This one comes from our job archive. In July 2024, our crew cleaned the porch windows at a house in Downtown Glendale. The windows sit under a covered porch, a short walk from a busy street. They're older wood sash windows, and the glass had picked up a dull layer of dust and street grime.

What we did
Older wood windows need a gentler hand than new vinyl frames. The paint along the edges was chipped, so we kept the work on the glass and went easy around the frame.
We scrubbed each pane with a soapy strip washer to lift the dust and film, then pulled it off with a squeegee. We worked one sash at a time. In the last photo below, the top sash is already clear while the bottom one is still covered in soap. After the squeegee, we hand-detailed the edges where the glass meets the old wood, since that's where streaks like to hide.
